A Purposeful Journey

As an author, entrepreneur, artisan, and messenger of the Besorah (Good News), my journey is one of intentionality and purpose. Each role I embrace is infused with the values and truths drawn from the Bible, guiding me to create works that are both bold and truthful. My life and identity as a dark-skinned American woman inform and enrich my perspective, allowing me to bring unique insights to my creations.

Through my experience as a victim of various forms of abuse, I aim to share my journey of overcoming pain and transforming into a healed and peaceful woman. My story is one of resilience and hope, a testimony to the power of faith and inner strength. By opening up about my struggles, I wish to lend support to others who may find themselves in similar situations, offering them solace and encouragement.

The path to healing was not an easy one, but it taught me invaluable lessons about forgiveness, self-love, and the importance of seeking help. I draw upon these experiences to fuel my work, infusing my projects with messages of empowerment and renewal. Being a messenger of the Besorah, or the Good News, is central to my creative process. My faith serves as the foundation upon which I build my stories, crafts, and business endeavors. Whether I’m writing a novel, designing a piece of art, or launching a new entrepreneurial venture, I strive to reflect biblical principles in every project. My goal is to inspire and uplift others, offering them a glimpse of the hope and love found within the scriptures.

Balancing Roles and Responsibilities

As a wife and mother, my life is a testament to the strength and resilience that comes from nurturing a family. Homeschooling my children is both a challenge and a blessing, allowing me to tailor their education to include not only academic knowledge but also spiritual and moral growth. Gardening, another passion of mine, connects me to the earth and serves as a metaphor for the cultivation of faith and family.

My experiences as a dark-skinned woman in America have shaped my worldview in profound ways. I am lovingly opinionated, unafraid to voice my thoughts and advocate for diversity and inclusion. My identity informs my interactions and my creations, ensuring they are authentic and resonate with a wide audience. It is my hope that through my work, I can contribute to a broader understanding and appreciation of diverse voices and perspectives.

As someone who has faced the aftermath of various forms of abuse, I often felt unworthy and incapable of achieving much. For a significant part of my life, I struggled with extremely low self-esteem and a lack of motivation to chase my dreams.

It wasn't until I reached my 30s that I truly learned to love myself. This transformation came through biblical healing and personal growth.

Once I recognized my own value, my desire to pursue my aspirations was reignited. I felt worthy and embraced the belief that, as the saying goes, "With God, all is possible." Today, I proudly identify as a fulfilled self-published author and artisan crafter.

The journey to follow my dreams has been both challenging and rewarding. I am thankful to have conquered my insecurities and financial struggles, remaining dedicated to my objectives. I believe that creativity and authenticity not only bring me joy but also define my essence. I appreciate simplicity and steer clear of pretentiousness. Rather than dining out, I cherish home-cooked meals with my husband and children.

My favorite pastimes include reading, writing, unwinding in bubble baths, and nurturing my home garden. I've made the decision to launch a home-based candle and handmade soap business while homeschooling my children to instill strong values in them.

My teaching approach emphasizes curiosity and critical thinking, encouraging my kids to explore the world with open minds and compassionate hearts. Through engaging projects and stories, I strive to ignite a lifelong passion for learning.

I refuse to be a victim of my past and instead choose to focus on living a peaceful life.
